How can I activate my cards?

You can call 91 050 01 08, go any Bankinter branch or use any of our ATMs.

What is the CVV?

Credit and debit cards use a cryptographic configuration commonly known as CSC (Card Security Code), CVV, (Card Verification Value), CW2, CVC2 or a CID number to provide maximum security for online payments and cut down on fraud. It is used to confirm that the person using the card has it in his possession. This code is secure as it is printed on the card and is not encrypted on the metallic strip or NFC (contactless) chip. This means it cannot be read or scanned by a device to replicate the data.

This security code consists of 3 or 4 numbers that you can find on the back of VISA or MasterCard cards.

What does contactless mean?

A contactless card is one that you just need to place near the terminal, not inside it. Also, you always need to use your PIN for purchases over 50 euros. The system will ask you to enter your PIN for every 3 transactions of less than 50 euros. You also need your PIN to take money out of ATMs.

My card is about to expire. How can I get a new one?

All cards are issued with an expiry date. At least 30 days before that date, we will send you a new one to your home address, so you can always use this payment system.

Can I register my card on a mobile payment platform?

Yes, all our cards can be added to all mobile payment platforms, regardless of the terminal's operating system: Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

If a beneficiary holder wants to register their card, the main holder must first sign the annexe to the mobile virtual card contract. All the information you need can be found via this link.

When will the bill be debited from my bank account?

The amount on each Bankinter Business card and Via T card will be debited from the linked account between the 1st and 5th of the following month.

What is authorised balance?

It is the sum of authorised operations that have not yet been included in your monthly statement.

What is an authorisation?

These are the transactions that you have carried out and which reduce the amount available on your card but which have not yet been included in your statement. Once the authorised transaction is shown on your card statement, the authorised balance is automatically reduced and the available balance increased (the available balance remains the same).

What is balance drawn?

It is the sum of transactions that have already been included in the monthly statement. The balance drawn at the end of the month will be the one charged to the linked account.

What is available balance?

It is the amount you still have available to spend during the month. It is the result of subtracting the authorised balance and the balance drawn from your card limit.

What is credit limit?

It is the maximum amount you can spend using your credit card in a month.

What is the direct debit account?

It is your business account from which your monthly card transactions will be debited, as well as any ATM cash withdrawals you make.

What is payment method?

It is how you can pay the balance you have drawn during the month. This card allows you to choose between an end-of-month payment method and a deferred payment method.

What is the PIN?

PIN is an acronym for Personal Identification Number“”“”.

The bank or financial institution assigns you a PIN when you receive your card for the first time. The PIN is usually 4 digits and you can change it at any time to a number of your choice that is easy to remember.

If you want to change the PIN, you can do so at an ATM that offers this service or at your branch.
