Additional coverage

Roadside assistance

  • Línea Directa will try to ensure that the company does not have to stop its professional activity in the event of any unforeseen event. It will therefore try to repair the vehicle in situ at the place of the breakdown, providing the insured with the necessary technical assistance to perform an emergency repair right where you are if possible.
  • If the broken down vehicle is in Spain, France, Portugal, Andorra or Gibraltar, Línea Directa will pay the costs of towing the vehicle to the selected workshop in Spain.
  • If the breakdown occurs in any other country, Línea Directa will take the vehicle to the nearest official dealer or specialist workshop, with a maximum distance of 100 km.

Travel assistance for people

If, unfortunately, the problem is more serious and it takes more than a day to repair the vehicle, Línea Directa will offer the driver and the occupants of the company vehicle three options:

  • Stay in a hotel of up to 4 stars for a maximum of 4 days.
  • Take them to their usual address.
  • Take them to their destination, provided that the cost does not exceed the cost of returning home.

Driving licence recovery course

If the insured has lost all the points on their licence, Línea Directa will help them to get back to work as soon as possible. Among other services, the insured will be given the option of taking out fine management coverage, which includes payment of the cost of the road awareness and re-education course up to €500, as well as the test fees to recover the driving licence.

Medical treatment

An exclusive comprehensive medical treatment service, which is extended to the driver and any legitimate occupant of the insured vehicle, as well as to third parties affected in a claim involving a vehicle insured by Línea Directa. Specialists in different disciplines who will do everything possible to speed up the process.

Traffic fine management

Línea Directa is acutely aware of how complicated dealing with fines can be, which is why they offer additional coverage: Línea Directa will challenge the insured's fines, both those that have been published in the official gazettes and those that the insured sends it, so that nothing interrupts their business.

Replacement vehicle

Línea Directa offers the insured a replacement vehicle if they are left without a vehicle as a result of theft, a claim involving damages or a write-off.

Quantitative limits on mandatory public liability guarantees

The amounts of mandatory insurance coverage, as set out in Royal Legislative Decree 8/2004, of 29 October, which approves the revised text of the Law on public liability and insurance for driving motor vehicles (article 4), are:

  • Personal injury
70 million euros per claim, regardless of the number of victims.

See FAQs FAQs

What is a motor vehicle?

Any vehicle that must be covered by mandatory public liability insurance for driving motor vehicles according to prevailing legislation.

What is considered a claim or accident?

Any sudden, unforeseen and involuntary event caused by external, visible and violent means, the economic impact of which is covered by the policy.

When all the personal injury and material damages are from the same cause and have occurred at the same time, it constitutes a single claim.

In a company fleet, is vehicle insurance mandatory?

Any vehicle, whether private or not and whether driven or not, is required to be insured by law. When it comes to vans, fleets of cars, delivery motorbikes, agricultural machinery, etc., the obligation becomes almost a necessity for the business to run smoothly.

What is the replacement value?

The replacement value refers to the price at an authorised official dealer for the same model as the insured vehicle in a brand new condition, including surcharges and taxes and discounts, whether a promotion or special offer, for which the person receiving compensation is eligible.

If the vehicle model has been discontinued, the value of the model that has replaced it and with the most similar standard engine and accessories to the insured vehicle will be considered the replacement value.

What is the fair market value?

This is the market value of the vehicle just before the loss occurred, as determined in the Ganvam newsletter or in the statistical guidelines.

How can I file a claim?

You must notify the company of the loss within seven days of the time of occurrence, unless the policy states a longer period. It is very important that you report it before this period has elapsed or the insurer could refuse to pay the damages. To make it easier for you, there are two ways of doing this:

  • By phone
    On 91 91 80 003 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • Through the Línea Directa website or app
Any day of the week and at any time.

What information should I collect at the time of the accident?

  • Write down the personal data of the driver and owner of the other vehicle.
  • Write down the material damages and personal injuries caused by the accident.
  • Reconstruct the events.
  • Make sure you sign the no-fault accident claim form.
  • Report the accident as soon as possible.

Can I split my insurance premium payment?

Yes, depending on the amount of your insurance, you can split the payment of the annual premium to make it easier and more flexible.
