Pension Account Conditions

The interest paid on the pension account is 4.94% nominal in the first year (5% AER). During the second year, the nominal remuneration will be 1.99% (2% APR). The AER has been calculated taking into account that the Payroll Account has no fees. The amount resulting from each half-yearly settlement will be subject to the withholding percentage stipulated in tax regulations, as it is treated as a capital gain.

The maximum daily balance for interest payment will not be higher than €5,000, no matter if there is more than one direct debit pension in the same account.

Interest will begin to be paid on the account as soon as the first pension income equal to or greater than the amount declared in the application is registered.

Requirements to enjoy the advantages of the promotion

Open a pension account in Bankinter always within the promotion dates. You must be an individual, resident in Spain, who does not have, or has not previously had accounts with Bankinter, either on your own or jointly. You must therefore be a new customer. These accounts must be opened simultaneously with the registration of the customer.

Register as a customer and open your Pension Account before the end of the promotion period.

The income to be received as a pension must be at least €1,000 net per month.

You need to have arranged at least three direct debits a quarter in your Pension account.

You must make a first payment into your Pension Account within no later than two months. If you don’t pay anything into the account after that period, the account will no longer be a Pension Account and you will lose the associated advantages, products and services.

This promotion is not available to Bankinter Group employees and agents.

Pension Account requirements

Pension income is considered valid if it is received by cheque or transfer, but not if it comes from the account holder. Cash income is not taken into account and the sum of the pensions is accepted.
