A Bank for All

Committed to accessibility.

Bankinter welcomes everyone, regardless of their abilities, integrating them into the Bank's daily operations and removing any barriers that may hinder access. Since 2005, with our project “A bank for all”, we identify people with disabilities as priority stakeholders. Our goal is to provide all channels with the highest level of accessibility, eliminating physical, technological and cognitive barriers and incorporating disability into the Bank's value chain.

Through the development of remote channels and the implementation of advanced technologies, we seek to offer a service that is accessible to any customer, anywhere.

We are committed to achieving the highest accessibility standards in order to meet Level AA criteria and continually improve the usability of our digital products.

The scope of all of the above includes the website https://www.bankinter.com/empresas, except for embedded content from external domains. However, Bankinter and its third-party providers are actively committed to improving the accessibility of external content included on the website, with the aim of ensuring the most inclusive digital experience possible.

Accessibility status

Currently, this digital asset is aligned with the latest version of the EN 301 549 standard. Despite Bankinter’s best efforts, some pages may occasionally fail to comply with the requirements set out in the standard. If you have any difficulties, please contact us through the channels indicated in this section.

Bankinter is implementing a continuous improvement plan to achieve full compliance within the timeframe established by current legislation. We are committed to making the necessary adaptations to ensure full compliance with digital accessibility requirements.

Criteria adopted

The Bank's adaptation to accessibility needs has been carried out in compliance with the provisions of Law 11/2023 of 8 May on the accessibility of certain products and services, to eliminate physical, sensory and cognitive barriers that could limit the full participation of all users.

Likewise, the Bank observes the most demanding standards in terms of universal accessibility, applying, to comply with the web accessibility requirements, the UNE-EN 301549:2019 standard, to guarantee the digital accessibility of its website https://www.bankinter.com/empresas.

The features implemented to improve content accessibility include the following:

  • (1.1.1) A thorough review of all significant images is currently under way to ensure that they have appropriate alternative (alt) text, therefore enabling access to the visual information for people with visual impairments.
  • (1.2.3) The implementation of audio description or media alternative for all recorded videos is currently being assessed, ensuring that the visual content is accessible through other means.
  • (1.3.1) Structural elements such as headers, field groupings, lists and tables are being audited to verify that visual relationships are also correctly reflected in the code.
  • (1.4.1) Additional visual cues such as underlines, icons or explanatory text are being added to prevent colour from being the sole means of conveying information.
  • (2.1.1) The development team is adapting all interactive components to ensure full keyboard functionality, allowing mouse-free navigation.
  • (2.4.3) We are checking that the tab order is logical and consistent, allowing sequential navigation that does not alter the meaning or operation.
  • (2.4.4) Link texts are being improved to make them more self-explanatory and understandable without additional context.
  • (2.5.1) It is being evaluated that all gestures required by the site have simple alternatives accessible through a single point of contact or equivalent.
  • (3.3.1) Validation mechanisms are being implemented that identify the errors made and point out the corresponding field by means of accessible text.
  • (3.3.2) All forms are being reviewed to ensure that each field has a clear label or instruction as to its purpose.
  • (4.1.2) Work is under way to improve the semantic accessibility of all custom components, ensuring that they correctly convey their role, state and value to assistive technologies.
  • (1.2.5) Alternative versions of the videos with integrated audio description are being prepared, or a second channel is offered to enable their activation, increasing the accessibility of the audiovisual content.
  • (1.3.5) Appropriate autocomplete attributes are being incorporated into forms to improve the user experience, especially on mobile devices or in assisted access contexts.
  • (1.4.3) Automatic and manual tools are being used to check that the contrast between text and background meets the minimum requirements to ensure legibility.
  • (1.4.10) All layouts are being validated to ensure that content adapts correctly to resize on small screens without the need for side scrolling.
  • (2.4.6) A clear and logical hierarchy is being applied to headings and labels to facilitate understanding of content and structured navigation.
  • (2.4.7) All interactive elements are being reviewed to ensure that keyboard focus is always visible using clear and contrasting styles.
  • (2.4.11) Ensure when an item gets keyboard focus, it is at least partially visible.
  • (2.5.7) In those cases where a functionality needs to be dragged with the mouse or finger, it should also be able to be done with a single click or touch.
  • (2.5.8) Check that all buttons and interactive elements comply with the minimum characteristics defined in this criterion (measuring at least 24x24 CSS pixels, there is a larger alternative on the same page, they are within inline text or their shape and size are essential or imposed by the browser).
  • (3.1.2) Lang attributes are being added to content fragments that are in a language other than the primary language, ensuring correct pronunciation by multilingual screen readers.
  • (3.3.3) Error messages are being improved to include understandable suggestions to help correct the bug detected by the user.
  • (4.1.3) The use of ARIA roles and accessible attributes is being properly implemented so that dynamic messages (such as errors, confirmations or alerts) are detected and reported by screen readers.

  • (11.1.3.1) The software is being progressively improved to ensure that the semantic structure (headings, lists, content regions) is correctly interpreted by assistive technologies. This requirement applies to both open and closed functionality, with procedures adapted to each case.
  • (11.2.1.1) The software is being adjusted to ensure that all interactive elements can be fully keyboard operated. This requirement may involve various checks, depending on the open or closed nature of the functionality.
  • (11.1.3.4) Software improvements are being made to properly adapt to the device orientation, maintaining usability both vertically and horizontally. This check is always performed, regardless of the type of feature.
  • (11.1.4.4) The software is undergoing a visual and structural redesign to allow text resizing up to 200% without loss of information or functionality. This requirement is assessed differently for open or closed functionality software.
  • (11.1.4.10) Work is being done to have the software automatically reorganise content as text size increases, without requiring unnecessary horizontal or vertical scrolling. This requirement applies with slight differences depending on the type of interface.
  • (11.4.1.2) The software is being thoroughly reviewed to ensure that all interface elements have an accessible name, properly defined function, and clear transmission of status or values. This criterion applies to open functionalities and is adapted for closed environments.
  • (11.4.1.3) Mechanisms are being implemented in the software so that dynamic messages are correctly announced by the screen readers. This includes statuses such as errors, confirmations or automatic changes, for specific use in open environments.
