How do I make, cancel and view a transfer?
How do I send a transfer?
To make a transfer through the Bankinter website, simply follow these steps:
On our website
- Log in to online banking with your credentials.
- In your Global Position, select the account from which you want to make the payment.
- Now select Transfers in the menu at the top of the screen.
- Fill in the transfer details:

Source account: it will already be selected if you access the feature from a specific account.Select the transfer type:
- Favourite contacts: if you have previously saved the recipient as a favourite, you won't need to enter the account number or the beneficiary's name. Just select it from the drop-down menu.
- New beneficiary: enter the full account number (including the IBAN) and the beneficiary's name.
- To one of your accounts: in the drop-down menu, select your own account to which you want to send the money.
- Solidarity transfer: in the drop-down menu, select the NGO to which you want to make the transfer.
- Enter the amount and the description: the description is optional, although its inclusion is recommended.

If the destination account is with another bank, choose the transfer type:
- One-off: You can choose standard (it will take 1 or 2 days to arrive) or instant (the beneficiary will receive the money immediately).
- Scheduled: Enter the date on which you want the transfer to take place.
- Periodic: In this case, you will need to enter a start date and an end date, or alternatively indicate that the duration is indefinite. You will also need to select the frequency: monthly, quarterly or annually.
- Check that the details are correct and click Confirm.
In our app:
- Log in to online banking with your credentials.
- In your Global Position, select the account from which you want to make the payment.
- Tap "+ Transactions" and select "New transfer".
- Fill in the transfer details:
- Select the transfer type:
- Favourite contacts: if you have previously saved the recipient as a favourite, you won't need to enter the account number or the beneficiary's name. Just select it from the drop-down menu.

- To one of your accounts: in the drop-down menu, select your own account to which you want to send the money.

- If it's a transfer between your accounts or if the destination account is with Bankinter, select Instant, check that the details are correct and tap CONFIRM.

- Verify that everything is correct and press Confirm. The app will display a message indicating that the transfer has been completed successfully.
Tip: Save as Favourite (optional)
If you want to save the account for future transfers, once you have entered the new beneficiary's account number, click “Save as favourite contact”, which appears just below.
How to repeat a transfer that has already been made through the app
If you want to reorder a transfer that has already been made, follow the steps below:
- Log in to the app with your credentials.
- In the bottom menu of your Global Position, select ”Pay” and then “View payments”.
- Choose the one you wish to repeat from the list of transfers shown.
- Tap “Repeat transfer”.
- To edit any details, tap the pencil; if you don't want to change anything, tap “CONFIRM” and you're done.
How to cancel a transfer
Not all transfers can be cancelled; it depends on the transfer type and when the cancellation attempt is made.
- Transfers between Bankinter accounts can't be cancelled since the funds are credited to the beneficiary's account immediately; there is no cancellation period. The only option is to contact the beneficiary and ask them to send the money back to you.
- Domestic or SEPA transfers to other banks can only be cancelled while their status is “Ordered”. If their status is “Sent” it is no longer possible to cancel them. Transfers are time-sensitive. Once you have made a transfer you only have a small window in which to cancel it.
To cancel a transfer, follow the steps below:
On our website
- Go to bankinter.com and log in.
- In Accounts, select the account from which you made the transfer.
- Find the transfer you want to cancel and click the three dots that appear to the right of it. If it can be cancelled, you will see the option "Cancel".
- Confirm that you want to cancel the transfer using the OTP code that will be sent to your phone.
In our app:
- Log in to the app with your credentials.
- Choose the account from which you made the transfer.
- Find the transfer you want to cancel and click on the "Cancel" button that you will see in the bottom menu.
- Confirm that you want to cancel the transfer using the OTP code that will be sent to your phone.
How to view, edit or cancel a recurring transfer
If you need to view or edit a recurring transfer through the Bankinter website, just follow the steps below:
On our website
- Go to the Bankinter website and log in with your credentials.
- Select "Transactions" in the menu at the top of the screen.
- Go to ACCOUNTS and select "View transfers".
- In the table, click "Recurring".
- Click the transfer to see the details.
- If you want to edit or cancel it, click the three dots that appear to the right of the transfer and choose the transaction. Confirm and you're done.
In our app:
- Log in to the app with your credentials.
- In the bottom menu of your Global Position, select "Pay" and then "View payments".
- Now tap "Upcoming transfers" at the top of the screen.
- Choose the one you want to view and, at the bottom of the screen, select "Edit" or "Cancel", depending on what you want to do.
