Cesce Green Investment Policy

A policy that gives your projects the “green light”, literally.

A firm commitment to innovation means making simple, comfortable financing available to you: the Cesce Green Investment Policy. A new way to finance green projects for your corporate that covers the risk of default on loans granted to foreign subsidiaries of Spanish corporates. It also provides protection against political and commercial risks.

How does it work?

The insured is the bank that provides financing to the foreign subsidiary of a Spanish corporate or group that is carrying out a project that meets the requirements to be considered green (according to the EU Taxonomy or Annex I of the OECD Arrangement).

What types of projects are considered green?

Green projects or financing are those included in Annex I of the OECD Arrangement.

All projects or financing that meet the requirements set out in the EU Taxonomy,* which covers the following categories, are considered to be green:

Climate change mitigation
Adaptation to climate change
Protection and sustainability of water and marine resources
Transition to the circular economy
Prevention and control of pollution
Protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems

*A green rating must be obtained from an approved certifier.

What risks does it cover?

Commercial risks
(maximum coverage 80%)

Non-payment due to the de facto liquidation (protracted default) or de jure liquidation (bankruptcy, suspension of payments, etc.) of the debtor and, where applicable, of the guarantor.

Political risks
(maximum coverage 80%)

Non-payment or lack of transfer and convertibility due to political violence, catastrophes, severe financial difficulties abroad, expropriation, etc.
