Objective:

Accelerate the transition to a more efficient and sustainable production system. Development of the circular economy includes activities such as: reduction of use of virgin raw materials, eco-design, recovery and processing of waste, and digital transformation through traceability.

Launch date:

  • Textiles, plastics and renewable energy goods.
  • A universal programme to foster the circular economy within any sector of business activity.

Objective:

Bolstering this industry, improving production processes and increasing competitiveness within the framework of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE).

Objective:

Development and manufacturing of electric and connected vehicles, and manufacture of key elements for the production of these vehicles, such as batteries and renewable hydrogen.

Launch date:

  • July 2021

Lines of action:

  • Original equipment manufacture and assembly (OEM) for electric and connected vehicles.
  • Projects related to batteries and fuel cells for electric and connected vehicles.
  • Other essential components for electric and connected vehicles.
  • Hardware and software components for smart vehicles.
  • Hardware and software components required for electric vehicle connectivity.
  • Charging systems for electric vehicles.
  • Actions for a possible second life for electric-vehicle batteries and other components, and solutions for their recycling and use of their raw materials.

Objective:

Development of technologies, knowledge and industrial capabilities to reinforce Spain's position as a world leader in clean energies, and bolstering areas where it has a lower presence, enabling the design and development of an energy transition designed and made in Spain.

Launch date:

  • December 2021

Lines of action:

  • 25 transformative measures for the development of technology, industrial capabilities and new business models, and their implementation in the country's economy.
  • The NextGen Energy seal to monitor projects related to a strategic objective that receive various forms of aid.
  • 17 additional measures to foster the development of the PERTE, such as education and training to enable industries to adapt to new technologies and take advantage of opportunities to create jobs.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and analysis system for the impact on the value chain of the energy transition in Spain.

Objectives:

Decarbonisation of production processes, improving their competitiveness through energy efficiency, promoting energy security in Spain, promoting the use of renewable energies for environmental improvement, and creating jobs with high added value.

  • Electrification of processes and incorporation of hydrogen.
  • Aid to manufacturing companies participating in IPCEIs in relation to the industrial chain of hydrogen from renewable sources.
  • Support for carbon contracts for differences and implementation of a pilot project.
  • Development of new manufacturing facilities that are highly efficient and decarbonised.
