FAQs
What is a hedge fund (HF)?
A hedge fund (HF) is an investment vehicle that offers greater flexibility in terms of strategy and the assets in which it invests, compared to traditional investment funds. It is aimed at investors who are looking to diversify their portfolio and are willing to take on a higher level of risk.
What are the fund's main features?
The main features are as follows:
- Not harmonised: the fund doesn't follow the European UCITS regulations, which allows for broader investment strategies.
- Access to alternative assets: investment in private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and other less common assets.
- Medium- and long-term horizon: it's a closed fund, meaning that the capital is not liquid until maturity.
In a nutshell, this is a product designed for those seeking opportunities beyond traditional markets and who understand the associated risks.
How can I subscribe to the fund?
To start the subscription process, please enter your details on the form. A specialist advisor will contact you to explain the product, answer your questions and confirm that it fits your investor profile.
Can I subscribe to the fund if I'm not a Bankinter customer?
Yes. You don't need to bank with us to access the fund. Just fill in the form and we'll explain the steps to follow to register and continue with the investment process.
Why supplement your traditional portfolio with a hedge fund?
There are multiple ways to invest and build a diversified portfolio. Hedge funds are one example and can be used to supplement other more traditional financial products.
The distinguishing feature of hedge funds is that they invest in assets and projects of the real economy—such as real estate, infrastructure and non-listed—through vehicles commonly used in alternative investment. This allows access to areas of the economy that are not normally available through stock markets.
As part of a long-term strategy, these funds can provide diversification by combining:
- Real assets: investments in real estate, infrastructure and renewable energies.
- Private markets: combining direct investments, private debt and venture capital, according to the fund's strategy.
