5% interest-bearing accounts: For new customers or existing customers who are not or have not been holders of a Salary/Pension/Business/Non-Salary/Youth Salary Account in the past 12 months and who have not received any interest on any of these accounts.
You can only hold one 5% interest-bearing account and a maximum of two Salary/Youth Salary, Pension, Business and Non-Salary Accounts.
The following requirements must be met to take out and continue to qualify for the benefits of the 5% interest-bearing accounts:
For the Salary/Business Account, the customer must set up a direct deposit of their salary/business income for a minimum amount of €800 per month, pay 3 direct debits per quarter and make 3 payments with the associated card per quarter.
For the Pension Account, they must set up a direct deposit for their pension for a minimum amount of €800 and pay 3 direct debits per quarter.
For the Non-Salary Account, they must spend an annual amount of €3,000 with the card(s) associated with the account and pay 10 bills/quarter.
Maximum interest-bearing balance: €10,000. 1st year NIR of 4.94% (5% APR). 2nd year: NIR of 1.99% (2% APR). Interest paid every six months. Example for a daily balance of €10,000 held in a salary account, calculated for an interest settlement period of 180 days (gross return): first six-month period: €243.62; second six-month period: €243.62; third six-month period: €98.14; fourth six-month period: €98.14. Total interest (first year): €487.24. Total interest (second year): 196,28€.
