The new financial solution “CAE Advance Loan” will provide immediate liquidity to projects linked to energy efficiency.

Avalmadrid will cover up to 100% of the risk, reinforcing its commitment to business sustainability in the Madrid region.
Avalmadrid and Bankinter have strengthened their strategic collaboration to promote sustainable financing among small- and medium-sized enterprises based in Madrid. A new addendum to the existing agreement between the two entities introduces innovative financial instruments to facilitate investments in energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, the circular economy and emissions reduction.
As a key new feature, the agreement introduces the “CAE Advance Loan”, a credit facility that allows SMEs to anticipate the economic value of their Energy Saving Certificate (CAE) recognised by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition. The product offers SMEs immediate liquidity to undertake sustainable projects, even before their certificate has been validated, therefore removing barriers to accessing financing.
The initiative includes a CAE Advance Facility with a maximum guaranteed coverage of up to 1.75 million euros and a guarantee of up to 100% by Avalmadrid. Financing is offered under competitive terms, with fixed or variable interest rates, terms of up to 12 months and the option to include grace periods.
Lorenzo Alonso, managing director of Avalmadrid, stressed that the company's goal was to “make it easier for Madrid-based SMEs to access sustainable financing under advantageous conditions in order to prevent liquidity shortages from hindering their commitment to energy efficiency. This new instrument addresses a dual need: providing financial support to those committed to sustainability and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy in the Madrid region.”
Víctor García López, director of Sustainable Business Development in the Bank's Sustainability area, has pointed out that Bankinter's mission was “to support SMEs by providing them with solutions to help them make significant progress in terms of sustainability, which in many cases can be quite complex. We are proud to have been the first bank to launch the CAE Advance Loan, enabling the business community to monetise its energy efficiency, and we'll continue to support the expansion of this financing.”
The measure positions Avalmadrid and Bankinter as key players in financing the energy transition, offering practical and accessible solutions that remove one of the main obstacles to sustainable investment: the lack of immediate liquidity.
