Bankinter steps up the capture of business for its star commercial retail banking products, with growth in mortgages and salary accounts

Bankinter beats its record for mortgages in the first quarter of the year, with nearly one billion euros of new business.

The bank's Salary Accounts increased by 25%, to over 13.5 billion euros.

Bankinter posts profit of 148.3 million euros in the first quarter, an increase of 13.8%, with a strong boost from the banking business

All account margins, as well as the quarterly profit, have increased since the first quarter of 2020 and also since the first quarter of 2019, the year before the pandemic.

Loans and receivables have grown by 5.9%, while new mortgages are up 44% from the first quarter of 2020.

The Bank has improved its main ratios: the return on equity (RoE) stands at 11.3%; the CET1 fully-loaded capital at 12.3%, well above the ECB's minimum requirement; and the NPL at 2.37%, 21 basis points lower than a year ago.

Bankinter's board of directors will approve the stock market flotation of Línea Directa for 29 April

Both the date of the listing and the deadline that will be used as the reference date for distributing shares of the insurance company will be approved at the board's next meeting on 21 April.

Each share of the Bank will grant the right to receive one Línea Directa share, which will start trading at 1.318 euros per share, the result of dividing the independent valuation of the company (1.434 billion euros) between the number of shares.

Bankinter and Plenium Partners agree to sell renewable energy fund Helia I to Canadian group Northland Power Inc. for close to 1,100 million euros

The deal, carried out by Bankinter Investment and Plenium, is valued at 345 million and is subject to the required regulatory approvals, so its execution is not expected to take place until the third quarter of the year.

The deal was developed with a view to maximise the return on the investment made by the funds's participants, clients of the bank's Private Baking division.

Bankinter receives authorisation from the ECB to carry out its stock market flotation of Línea Directa

The European regulator authorises the distribution of the share premium (€1,184 million) between the Bank's shareholders through the delivery of 82.6% of the insurance company's share capital and its subsequent stock market flotation.

Línea Directa will start trading at a theoretical price of €1.318 per share, the result of dividing the independent valuation of the company (€1,434 million) between the number of shares.
