Bankinter obtains validation from EQA that its sustainability strategy is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals

EQA's procedure concluded that the 52 programmes included in this plan, which are grouped into various lines of action, are aligned with and contribute to the achievement of 12 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Bankinter has obtained validation, by the certification, inspection and verification body EQA, that the bank's sustainability strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In order to carry out the validation process, EQA used its own methodology, based on the main international verification standards, ensuring there are no conflicts of interest and that the necessary technical competence is provided.

In the validation process, EQA identified that Bankinter's Sustainability strategy, which is contained in its Sustainability Plan, is aligned with and contributes to the SDGs, concluding that the 52 sustainability programmes, grouped into eight material lines of action, are aligned with and contribute to 12 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals and their respective targets.

As an example, Bankinter's Sustainability Plan contributes significantly to Goal 8, which refers to decent work and economic growth; Goal 9, which focuses on industry, innovation and infrastructure; Goal 10, which corresponds to reducing inequalities, and Goal 13, which relates to climate action.

Bankinter has therefore validated its commitment to complying with the SDGs, which it considers an essential framework for moving towards a more sustainable and inclusive development model.
