Bankinter and BME launch a new ‘Trader Lab’ to teach about trading future contracts

The bank and the stock exchange operator are organising four on-site and online training sessions for specialised investors.

On 27 September, Bankinter and BME will hold a new edition of ‘Trader Lab’ in Valencia. The bank created this educational initiative last year in order to raise the financial awareness of the general public. This time, the lab will focus on MEFF futures trading and BME’s derivatives market, a point of interest for many investors. Under this common objective, both entities will offer a series of free sessions for advanced investors so that they might expand their knowledge about trading these products.

The bank, through Bankinter Broker and in a collaborative effort with BME, is opening the sessions scheduled in Valencia (27 September), Barcelona (2 October) and Bilbao (17 October) to highly specialised trading experts, regardless of their affiliation to the bank.

The training cycle will be closed with a special event in Madrid to be held in January of next year, which can be streamed online by anyone interested.

The sessions will be led by Rafael Serrano, head of equities at Bankinter, and Enrique Castellanos, head of training at BME, and will consist of a class on theory followed by practical exercises involving a real-time trading simulation.

The first edition of ‘Trader Lab’ took place in 2017. Following its success, a second edition about ETFs was held. Both editions were attended by over 3,300 people who received training through a number of on-site classes in various cities like A Coruña, Alicante, Zaragoza and Madrid, in addition to online sessions.
