Bankinter Investment and Plenium Partners enter the student housing sector in Italy

The companies have acquired a student residence in Turin with a capacity of 331 beds.

The deal consolidates both firms' student housing platform in southern Europe, made up of eight assets in Spain, Portugal and, with this latest acquisition, Italy as well.

RELIFE will remain the residence operator under its brand.

Bankinter Investment SGEIC and its partner Plenium Partners, an independent Spanish investment group specialising in energy, energy transition, circular economy and social infrastructure, today announced their entry into the student housing sector in Italy with the acquisition of an asset in Turin. The investments aims to consolidate the student housing platform of both firms in southern Europe.

Specifically, the acquisition consists of a student residence located near the University of Turin, with a capacity for 331 beds. In service since September 2024, the property comprises two buildings and features shared study areas, a communal kitchen, sports facilities, gardens and rest areas, as well as a laundry room. With LEED® Gold certification, it is equipped with a high-performance cladding, highly efficient systems, reduced water consumption and a high-quality indoor environment. The complex also includes Caffè Sospeso, open to both students and the local community, and 21 Blossom Rooms intended for short-stay tourist accommodation.

The residence is managed under the RELIFE brand, a socially responsible operator that offers a high-quality hospitality service while creating active communities committed to the third sector.

As a result of the deal, Bankinter Investment and Plenium Partners now have eight projects under management, with more than 3,600 beds spread across student residences in Spain, Portugal and, with this latest acquisition, Italy as well.

This new addition to the portfolio consolidates the student housing platform in southern Europe promoted by both firms.
