Bankinter raises the remuneration of its digital account to 3.25% AER, with no limit on amounts

  • The offer, available through the Bank's digital channels, is open only to new customers until 30 September.

  • The account, which has no remuneration limits, charges no administration or maintenance fees and does not have any direct-debit requirements.

Bankinter has made a significant shift in its commercial strategy by raising the remuneration of its digital account for new customers to 3.25% AER, from the first euro and with no limit on the amount for its remuneration.

Until now, Bankinter's digital account had three remuneration levels based on the balance: 1% for average balances up to 25,000 euros; a remuneration of 1.25% for average account balances between 25,000 and 50,000 euros; and 1.50% AER for average balances of more than 50,000 euros.

From now on, the remuneration will be 2% up to 25,000 euros; 2.5% for accounts with average balances between 25,000 and 50,000 euros; and a remuneration of 3.25% AER from the first euro for accounts with an average balance of more than 50,000 euros in the settlement period, which will be monthly.

Under these new conditions, Bankinter's digital account will be available exclusively through the Bank's website and app for new customers until 30 September.

This is an open account with full access to funds, no administration or maintenance fees, and no direct debit or minimum balance requirements. The account includes a debit card, with no administration or maintenance fees, which can be used for free cash withdrawals at more than 17,000 ATMs throughout Spain.

It also includes many of the options available through other bank accounts, such as direct debits for bills, fee-free national transfers via the website or app, and access from all channels (internet, app, telephone and branches).

Combination with the Bankinter Salary Account.

In addition, new customers who open the Bankinter digital account will be able to open the Bank's Salary Account alongside it (by paying in a salary or pension of more than 800 euros per month), and in this way obtain additional remuneration over the following two years (up to 5% AER the first year and up to 2% AER the second, in this case on the first 10,000 euros), taking advantage of both remunerations.

This launch enhances Bankinter's commercial offer in the digital field with the only interest-bearing account on the market from a listed bank, without conditions and without a maximum remuneration amount.
