EVO Banco
An outstanding exercise before the merger with Bankinter
EVO Banco completed its last year as a 100% digital subsidiary in 2024. After five years operating as an independent entity, EVO will merge with Bankinter in 2025. This integration aims to create a new value proposition that combines EVO's digital capabilities with Bankinter's financial and commercial strength in the Spanish market.
EVO closed its last financial year with a total asset volume of 5 billion euros, with a 16% growth compared to the 4.3 billion of the previous year.
In financial terms, the subsidiary achieved significant improvements in the main lines of the income statement. Gross operating income stood at 80.84 million euros, 22% more than at the end of 2023, while profit after tax was in the positive figures: 8.1 million euros, compared to -0.5 million in the previous year.
Customer credits and funds
In terms of the balance sheet, EVO Banco demonstrated remarkable strength in its capacity for growth. The increase in customer credit stands out, which rose from 3.3 to 3.8 billion euros (+13.35%). The balance of customer funds hit the 4.6 billion euros mark, 15% more than in 2023.
The expansion of business activity advanced alongside the corporate integration and technological and commercial migration process, set to conclude in 2025. In this context, intensive management procedures were rolled out to guarantee the suitable handling of the legal, technical and commercial elements essential to guarantee the operation’s successful execution.
