Bankinter launches an interest-bearing account with up to 3% AER for its SME customers

  • The account, available to customers of the Plan 0 of the “Bankinter Corporate Plan”, offers a remuneration of 3% AER the first year and 1.5% AER the second year, with a maximum interest-bearing balance of 50,000 euros and no fees.

  • A new advantage of the “Bankinter Corporate Plan”, a model which the Bank launched almost two years ago to simplify the range of accounts for SMEs and make fees as simple and transparent as possible.
Bankinter has launched its Corporate Plan 0 Account on the market, a vehicle through which the Bank offers its small- and medium-sized enterprise customers a remuneration of 3% AER during the first year and 1.5% AER the second year, with a maximum interest-bearing balance of 50,000 euros and no fees.

The account, which can yield up to 2,225 euros the first two years, is available as part of the Plan 0 of the “Bankinter Corporate Plan”, a transparent relationship model that allows SMEs to choose how they want to relate to the Bank.

The model was launched in September 2021 with the aim of simplifying the range of accounts, establishing a much simpler progressive fee policy, and eliminating maintenance fees based on a series of options selected by customers themselves.

The loyalty plan takes into account the transactions carried out in three areas of activity: transactional business, international business and insurance. The

“Bankinter Corporate Plan” establishes three pricing levels: Plan 0, for customers with the largest volume of transactions and maximum level of loyalty to the Bank, who are eligible for the interest-bearing account without any fees and can access multiple other advantages; Plan 10, with a fixed account maintenance fee of 10 euros per month, for customers with an intermediate volume of transactions; and Plan 20, with a fee of 20 euros per month, for customers with occasional transactions.

Options

To access Plan 0, customers must comply with at least one of the following six options:

-Collections of 100,000 euros per quarter and three payment operations.
-Collections of 50,000 euros per quarter, three payment transactions and purchase of one insurance policy.
-International business transactions of 15,000 euros per quarter and three payment transactions.
-Purchase of two Bankinter insurance policies.
-Average balance drawn down on financing products of 50,000 euros per quarter and three payment transactions.
-Average balance of investment and/or fixed-income funds of at least 50,000 euros per quarter or an average credit balance in current accounts of at least 100,000 euros per quarter.

In addition to the remuneration on the account, which is only available for SMEs in the Plan 0, all three plans have multiple advantages to cover the daily banking needs of a company: account, cards, personal adviser, SEPA transfers, cheque deposit, SEPA debits; as well as electronic payments: POS with discount rate of 0.45%; and international business services: foreign currency account and access to the foreign currency broker with real-time prices.

This new interest-bearing account enhances what is already a very competitive value proposition from Bankinter, designed to meet the needs of Spanish small- and medium-sized enterprises and supported by three pillars: liberty, flexibility and transparency.
