Bankinter Investment agrees project financing of 35 million euros for the renewables company X-ELIO
- The financial backing will be used to develop, operate and maintain three photovoltaic energy projects.
Bankinter Investment, the Bank's subsidiary that specialises in investment banking, has agreed project funding for X-ELIO, a company that develops renewable energy projects.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Bank will provide 35 million euros of financial support to X-ELIO to be used for developing and maintaining three photovoltaic energy projects with a total capacity of 67 MW.
The projects are located in Xixona (Alicante). One of the plants has been in operation since 2021 and a second facility is entering its final stage of construction. Both projects total 50 MW. The third plant, located in Fuente Álamo (Murcia), commenced operations in 2023 with a capacity of 17 MW.
All three projects bolster the penetration of renewable energy in the Spanish energy mix and will contribute to the achievement of the energy transition goals set for the coming years.
