Landa, the alternative investment vehicle managed and promoted by Bankinter Investment and Nuveen, closes its fifth deal by acquiring a new "agricultural" asset
The venture capital fund has raised €138 million to invest in farmland across Spain and Portugal.
It now has over 1,000 hectares after making three acquisitions of farmland throughout the year.
This new transaction involves incorporating the second citrus farm in Huelva, with a surface area of around 250 hectares.
Landa, the agricultural asset investment vehicle promoted and managed by Bankinter Investment SGEIC in collaboration with Nuveen, agricultural asset management services provider, a world-leading manager of farmland, has made a new acquisition in the sector. Landa has just closed the purchase of a new citrus farm in Huelva, with a surface area of approximately 250 hectares.
This is the project's second investment in citrus farms, following the purchase of another farm in Huelva earlier this year, which consolidates its growth strategy in this specialised market where there are few players in the alternative investment sector.
With this second acquisition, Landa reaches nearly 300 hectares of citrus in production, with a combination of premium varieties, in line with market demand. Both assets are expected to have an investment plan focused on rejuvenating the plantations and incorporating the latest agricultural technologies, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and long-term production quality.
This vehicle has attracted demand from a diversity of investors and has already raised €138 million since its launch.
Farm management practices are structured through agreements with top-level farming operators, ensuring professional and modern management, in line with demanding sustainability criteria and high product quality standards.
Other acquisitions
In addition to investments in citrus farms, Landa completed the acquisition in 2025 of two avocado and mango farms in Granada, as well as previous investments in almond crops in Cáceres and in horticultural production in Albacete. Together, these operations raise the total area invested by Landa to approximately 1,100 hectares.
Landa continues to analyse new investment opportunities and maintains the provinces of Huelva, Valencia and Castellón as priority areas for this phase of investment in citrus farms, within a strategy of progressive and balanced growth.
