Bankinter's International Banking business saw a consolidation in 2022 as a key lever in the growth of corporate commercial activity. Despite the difficult economic and geopolitical environment, the average lending balance reached 7.953 billion euro, an increase of 24.7%, in contrast with the 10.4% growth registered in the previous year
During the year, strong growth was recorded in intermediated documentary business (+73%), in intermediated international collections and payments (+21.3%) and in the volume managed by the Online Foreign Exchange Broker (+39.5%). The gross operating income of the business area reached a record high of 265.5 million euro (+58.2%) in 2022. Fee and commission income accounted for 42% of the area's gross operating income.
Looking ahead to 2023, International Banking will be offering a new digital Supply Chain Finance service, seeking to dynamise the working capital of its importer and exporter customers by advancing invoices and guaranteeing payment obligations to international suppliers, whether in euro or any other convertible currency.
