Bankinter, Winner of the Telefónica Ability Awards Prize for 'Professional Training and Development'
These awards recognise the good practices of companies in terms of accessibility, recruitment, training, and equal opportunities, as well as the development of products and/or services aimed towards disabled people.
The winners of this 3rd edition of the awards were selected by a panel composed of around thirty figures and representatives from ministries, universities, trade unions, the network of disability associations and other social and business associations, as well as the three winners of the special categories in the previous two editions.
In their decision to name Bankinter winner of the 'Professional Training and Development' category, the Judges took into consideration the work the bank has carried out internally to "guarantee that each employee has the same opportunities for promotion and training to ensure the development of their career".
For that matter, for some time now the company has included various training courses and staff awareness initiatives in its Employee Training Plan aimed at the correct treatment of people with disabilities, whether they are customers or company employees. The company has also included a section in its Company Guidelines to be taken into account when working with people with disabilities
Equally, the bank provides all the adaptations needed in terms of physical and technological accessibility so that employees with disabilities can work as effectively as possible.
The physical (the facilities of the offices and branches) and technological (information contained on the Intranet) environments are accessible to all employees, with services which are adapted to different disabilities. This allows all employees, regardless of their abilities, to access training, information and job rotation related to their position.
Ultimately, this award highlights the bank's long history of improving accessibility and encouraging the integration of people with disabilities.
