2023 was another record year for Large-corporate Banking. The generation of gross operating income increased to 476.9 million euros, with profit before tax (PBT) of 419 million, making this business segment the biggest contributor to the entity's results. These results were driven by the increase in interest rates and supported by the excellent performance of fees and commission, which grew by 7.79%.
The balance sheet showed a robust increase, clearly exceeding the objectives set. Customer deposits increased by 3,036 million euros and lending grew by 597 million, due largely to new loans, which rose by 29% compared to the previous year.
The area also continued its excellent rate of customer acquisition, with 1,463 new customers added in various geographies.
