Is there a minimum transaction amount?
No. There is no minimum.
What exchange rate will I receive? How do your rates compare to those offered by my high street bank?
The exchange rate you receive will depend on a number of factors, including:

-The currency you are selling.
-The interbank exchange rates at the time of purchase.

We make our money in the difference between our buy and sell prices i.e. the spread. We have lower overheads, so we can pass these extra savings on to you.
How much will the service cost me to use?
A transfer fee will be charged for each transaction. We'll notify you of all fees before you confirm your transaction.
Can I cancel a transaction once I have paid for it?
Once you have confirmed your transaction it cannot be cancelled. If you have transacted in error, we’d advise contacting us as soon as possible.
How long will it take for my Euros to arrive?
Cleared funds should be in your Bankinter account within two to three working days of a successful transaction. The 'credit date' will be displayed to you during the transaction process.
Can I send funds to someone else's account?
No. You are only able to top up your own Bankinter account. Should you need to transfer to another account holder, you can make this transfer in the normal way, once you have funds in your account.
Can I use a credit card?
Yes. You can pay using Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards. If you're paying by credit card you will incur an additional processing cost of 1.6%. This cost is incorporated in to your exchange rate, and it will also be shown to you before you confirm your transaction.
Can I use someone else's payment card to pay for the transfer?
No. The card used to make the payment must be in your name (i.e. the account holder).
How will I know that the transaction has been successful?
Confirmation, along with a reference, will be displayed once you've submitted your details and we have successfully accepted your card payment. You are also able to specify an email address that an additional confirmation can be sent to.
Is the service secure?
Yes. Before you use the service, you will have to log into your Bankinter account using your secure user ID, password and PIN. The Account Top-Up Service itself uses 128-bit encryption for the transfer of data and the payment process is PCI DSS compliant. HiFX also use Norton – the system preferred by 97% of the World's top 100 banks and 93% of Fortune 500 companies. Norton is also used billions of times a day by companies and consumers across the World.
My transaction has been declined, what should I do?
Please always check that all the information is correct before you submit your payment details. If you are having problems it's normally best that you contact your bank first.

In order to maintain the highest level of security for you, the transaction process includes various anti-fraud checks.

Your card details are also checked against the records held with your issuing bank. If any of these don't match then your bank is likely to decline the transaction. It is important to remember that your bank may also decline the payment for a number of reasons that are out of our control.
What should I do if I have not received my funds by the date specified?
If your Euros don't appear on or before the credit date, the first thing you should do is make sure that your card was debited. If it was, please contact Bankinter with the unique transaction reference you were shown after confirming your transaction. If you provided an email address, the unique reference will also be on the email confirmation.
