Strong shareholder value creation
Under the regulations applicable at the consolidated level, Bankinter is required to maintain minimum capital ratios. According to the supervisory assessment for 2025, Bankinter's risk profile remains stable compared with previous years. The entity remains in the Group of Spanish and European banks with the lowest Pillar 2 requirement, which stands at 1.30% in 2025, with a requirement of 1.50% applicable in 2026; this reflects the Group's good risk profile and is one the five lowest requirements established by the ECB.
The Single Resolution Board (SRB) established binding MREL requirements at the consolidated level, both on total risk exposure and on the leverage ratio, including an additional subordinated MREL component. As of 31 December 2025, Bankinter comfortably met these requirements, with a total MREL of 25.67% and a subordinated MREL of 21.81%. In January 2026, the SRB updated these requirements, which continue to be amply fulfilled by the entity.
Improving solvency levels
In 2025, Bankinter maintained as a strategic priority the active and efficient management of its capital, with the objective of strengthening its solvency, supporting the growth in lending to households and businesses and keeping its pay out rate at 50%. In this context, the highest quality capital ratio (CET1) stood at 12.72% at the end of the reporting period, which represents an increase of 31 basis points compared with the previous year, driven mainly by the generation of recurring earnings. The positive solvency level was supported by the good results achieved during the year. At the close of 2025, the CET1 and Total Capital ratios exceeded the minimum requirements by 436 basis points (1,983 million euros) and 487 basis points (2,214 million euros), respectively, reflecting the strength of the Group's capital position.
