On the recommendation of the Appointments and Corporate Governance Committee, the Bankinter Board of Directors decided in its meeting today to submit the appointment of Rosa María García García as external Independent Bank Director to the next General Shareholders' Meeting for approval.

A Mathematical Sciences graduate at Madrid's Universidad Autónoma, Rosa María García has over 25 years of international experience in the fields of information technology, industry and energy, among others. She is currently Chairwoman and CEO of Siemens, responsible for Siemens' business in Spain, and Independent Director of Acerinox since November 2013.

She has also been Independent Director and member of the Committee for Appointments and Remuneration of BME since January 2015. Before joining Siemens she was Vice President of Consumption and Online for Europa WE. She previously occupied different positions in the same field, such as Chairwoman and CEO of Microsoft Spain. For four years she was Independent Director and member of the Committee for Appointments and Remuneration at Banesto.

The appointment of Rosa María García will be a positive contribution to the Bank's Board of Directors, given her extensive professional experience in blue-chip multinationals and her knowledge about concerns with special significance for the Bank, such as the technological and digital or financial fields, as well as her experience in Corporate Governance in IBEX-35 companies.
