Alfonso Ferrari, new non-executive chairman of Bankinter Gestión de Activos

Alfonso Ferrari replaces José Manuel García Sola as independent non-executive chairman of Bankinter’s fund manager.

Bankinter Gestión de Activos has appointed Alfonso Ferrari to be its new independent non-executive chairman. Mr Ferrari will also preside over the fund manager’s control committee, which is mainly responsible for overseeing its risk policy and ensuring that it complies with all regulations that apply to this type of company.

Alfonso Ferrari has a doctorate in industrial engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and a master’s in business administration from the Harvard Business School. He also has an extensive professional background. He was a director at Telefóníca and a founding partner, chief executive officer and board chairman in Beta Capital, in addition to other posts he held in financial and industrial entities.

Mr Ferrari will be replacing José Manuel García Sola, who had been chairman since 2015.

Bankinter Gestión de Activos closed out 2017 with 8.418 billion euros in own-managed investment funds, over 2.457 billion euros in pension funds and  2.637 billion euros in SICAVs.
