Bankinter and Aena sign a strategic agreement for payment methods
The bank is working with the airport operator to launch the “Enjoy Aena” card, which will be available to all customers of its facilities throughout Spain.
This is the first time Aena has entered into such an alliance with a Spanish bank.
There are two versions of the Enjoy Aena card - classic and premium - both of which offer benefits such as discounts on purchases at airports and car parks, and free travel and accident insurance.
Bankinter has formed an alliance with Aena for payment methods, through Bankinter Consumer Finance. Through this agreement, the bank and the public company are offering all Aena passengers a loyalty card with significant benefits.
This is the first credit card of this type that Aena has launched with a Spanish bank.
Describing the agreement, Alfonso Saez, head of Bankinter Consumer Finance, said “We are extremely pleased to bring a strategic partner like Aena into our payment methods strategy. Working with this major group, we will be able to extend our reach in this business, strengthening our position in a segment of customers with medium and medium-high financial profiles, which is very attractive for the bank. This is a leap forward in consolidating our activity.”
Aena's Commercial and Real Estate General Manager, María José Cuenda, said this is an “innovative financial tool that offers customers a wide range of benefits and advantages in relation to the businesses and services offered at airports in Aena's network in Spain. This credit card combines the experience and knowhow of two leaders in their fields, guaranteeing an excellent payment experience. The exclusive features and attractive offers associated with this credit card make it very valuable for anyone visiting an airport”.
The “Enjoy Aena” card is designed for all users of Aena airports who want a fast and simple payment method that offers commercial benefits.
There will be classic and premium versions, with discounts on purchases in airport shops, fast-track boarding, discounts in Aena car parks and access to VIP airport lounges. This is in addition to free travel and accident insurance, and access to refunds on all purchases inside and outside Aena airport facilities.
