Bankinter Roboadvisor ends the first half of the year with returns of up to 8.8% on its investment fund portfolios and pension plans

  • The bank's 100% online manager is establishing itself as a leader in the fully digital investment business.

  • Bankinter was the first bank to launch its own roboadvisor, back in 2018.
Bankinter Roboadvisor, the bank's 100% digital investment manager, performed very strongly in the first half of 2023.  The pension plans and investment fund portfolios it markets entirely online have racked up accumulated returns of up to 8.8% from January to June this year.

For example, its aggressive domestic portfolio - comprising funds investing mostly in equities in the national market - delivered a return of 8.82%, while its global aggressive portfolio - investing in funds that invest in international markets - was up 7.56%. These figures relate to delegated-management portfolios, where the investor entrusts management to the roboadvisor.
In indexed portfolios, which replicate the composition of leading international stock-market indices, the aggressive indexed portfolio delivered outstanding returns of 7.38%.

Meanwhile, in fund portfolios for moderate profiles - those with a medium appetite for equities - the domestic moderate portfolio grew by 4.35% and the global portfolio by 4.26%. The moderate indexed portfolio delivered returns of 4.72% in the first half of the year.

The most risk-averse portfolios - defensive and conservative portfolios, with the lowest weight of funds that invest in equities - recorded returns of up to 2.97% on indexed portfolios and up to 2.77% on managed portfolios.

Sustainable portfolios

Turning to sustainable portfolios, featuring funds that invest in securities with sustainability criteria, the dynamic sustainable portfolio had the highest returns, at 7.93%, while the moderate portfolio grew by 4.58% and the conservative portfolio was up 3.11%.

The dynamic pension plan, with a higher weight of equities, increased by 7.55%, while the moderate plan was up 5.49%, and the conservative plan rose by 2.68%.
In 2018, Bankinter was the first Spanish bank to launch its own roboadvisor, a service created years ago in the United States and very popular with investors there.

Its track record has positioned Bankinter Roboadvisor as one of the leading entities for digital investment. Robodvisors in Spain focus on indexed management, a market in which the Bankinter manager has a significant offering.

Boosting digital investment services.

Bankinter intends to continue building its digital investment offering. Last year, it launched Capital Advisor, the first 100% online advisor launched by a Spanish bank.
