Bankinter reaches 600 million euros in approved operations with corporates in the management of European 'Next Generation' funds
- The Bank has a project pipeline worth more than 2.1 billion euros of projects in the portfolio of its business clients in this activity, of which 600 million correspond to transactions already authorised.
- More than 2,800 companies from multiple sectors have received support and advisory services from the Bank in drafting, processing and applying for these subsidies.
This year, Bankinter has significantly stepped up its support and advisory services for corporate customers applying for European funds from the Next Generation EU programme sanctioned by the European Commission.
The support provided by the Bank includes not only advice but also advance financing for business projects eligible for aid from Brussels, such as those focusing on innovation, digitalisation, industrialisation, energy efficiency, or the development of green hydrogen.
At the end of July, the bank had a pipeline of more than 2.1 billion euros of projects in its portfolio from corporate customers within this activity, of which 600 million euros correspond to operations already approved, an increase of 53% compared with the same figure at the end of 2023. In the first half of the year alone, nearly 210 million euros have been approved.
These approved operations include guarantees, advances on subsidies, loans to complete 100% of the requested amount, aid for the improvement and renovation of residential buildings, mutual guarantee companies and others.
Of the 600 million euros for approved operations, 27% correspond to corporates based in Madrid, almost 25% to corporates in Catalonia, and 15% to the Bank's Levante-Baleares Territorial Organisation, which includes the regions of Valencia and Murcia and the Balearic Islands.
More than 2,800 corporate customers have received advisory services and support since the Bank launched its support service for corporate customers in the processing of European funds.
Support for corporate customers
This Bankinter service, provided through the FI Group consultancy and which is free until the aid is received, includes benefits such as support for structuring and drafting projects, technical assistance and submission of applications at the corresponding public service points, and an audit aimed at verification and economic justification for the funding obtained.
The corporates looking to undertake projects with aid from Brussels include large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises from a range of sectors, including the energy and chemicals industries.
